It may be used in the synthesis of 5-aryl-1-methyl-4-nitroimidazoles, via Suzuki coupling with arylboronic acids, catalyzed by dichlorobis-(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II), K2CO3 and tetrabutylammonium bromide.
